Angra dos Reis is a municipality located in the southern region of the wonderful state of Rio de Janeiro. Known for its exuberant natural beauty, Angra dos Reis contains one of the most beautiful archipelagos in the world, the Ilha Grande archipelago, considered in 2007 as one of the 7 wonders of the world, reaching the expressive second place, only behind another wonder of Rio de Janeiro, the Sugar Loaf.

The archipelago of Angra dos Reis, a municipality that even became the music of the acclaimed Brazilian band Legião Urbana, has more than 100 lush beaches of crystalline green water that are home to one of the greatest diversities of marine life in the world, containing thousands of species of fish, crustaceans, turtles , dolphins, whales and many other species.

The greenish water on the beaches of Angra dos Reis is due to the reflection of the exuberant Atlantic Forest (with ferns , coconut trees , bromeliads, orchids and much more)  present in all islands of the archipelago. The leafy trees of this biome are essential for maintaining the balance, beauty and safety of the species, as their strong roots connect to form a strong network that holds the poor soil that the biome has on the rocky reliefs of the region.

Angra dos Reis is one of the most visited cities in the world due to its tropical climate during practically every month of the year. In addition, the Angra dos Reis archipelago has beaches for all tastes:

• Beaches facing the mainland: They have very calm and crystalline waters due to the natural protection of the large Archipelago Island, these beaches are perfect for snorkelling and diving.

• Beaches facing the open sea: They have a unique beauty, however, with waves that vary according to the intensity of the sea. They are perfect for surfing.

The large island of the Angra dos Reis Archipelago has 193 thousand square meters of paradise on earth. It is possible to go around the island on foot and this journey takes about 7 days.
